Beach Wedding Inspiration
It’s been a little quiet over here on the blog recently but now that my shiny new website is up and running, I’m excited to start sharing more on here again. I have a few posts lined up which I’m so happy to finally share, including this gorgeous beach wedding shoot which I’m in love with. Last spring the very lovely Kat from Bond photography asked if I wanted to join her in putting together and photographing a styled shoot. A styled shoot (according to google) is a collective, group effort between a variety of vendors coming together to produce a beautiful mock wedding, or other grand event. The idea behind a styled shoot is to showcase the talents of the vendors and to express their creativity in new and exciting ways!
When Kat mentioned that she was thinking of having a beach wedding theme for the shoot I was instantly sold!! We put our heads together to first of all find a venue that would be happy to host the shoot, would fit in with our theme, wasn’t too far away and was available on the dates we knew we could both make. We soon found Thorpeness Counrty Club which ticked all the boxes and could not have been more perfect. This is the perfect wedding venue for a beach themed wedding. The venue is right on the beach front, overlooking the sea, it’s absolutely stunning. A couple of Kats friends had kindly agreed to be our “Bride and Groom” for the shoot and we managed to get a group of super talented wedding suppliers involved.
The stationary came from Sarah Ardrey Designs. She absolutely nailed the beachy vibes we were going for and was actually a really big inspiration for me for my rebrand. She put together a full wedding invitation pack including ‘save the dates’ in a blue and white watercolour look. She also kindly supplied us with a table number and name cards for our tablescape in the same design.
Venue Styling By Sara then kindly lent us lots of beautiful lanterns, candles, glass bottles and other fab bit and pieces to style one of the tables at Thorpeness Country Club. Considering Kat and I definitely aren’t stylists, I’m so chuffed with how the table came together and we had so much fun playing around with different ideas to see what we liked the look of.
The beach themed wedding cake I was absolutely blow away with when I saw it for the first time. Amelies Kitchen got the brief absolutely bang on and the finely detailed flower was the perfect finishing touch. I could stare at this cake all day every day!
It was so lovely having Jenny Buckland there with us on the day, she gave our Bride a natural make up look with a really beautiful boho bridal hair look. Topped off with these super sweet hair accessories from Rachel Sokhal Bridal it was such a beautifully natural look.
Finally, can we talk about the dress and flowers! Wow, wow, wow!!! This beautiful beach themed wedding bouquet was put together by Triangle Nursery with a matching botton hole. The colours were spot on and with the shells and the ribbon, it really finished the whole bouquet off so well!! The beachy boho dress was from Bex Brides. It was a beautiful two piece with the most amazing blue ombre detail at the bottom, it was absolutely perfect for the shoot and I’m so happy with how it looked in the photos on the beach.
Everyone who worked on this shoot with us stuck to the brief and our vision so well and it has been so lovely to create a set of images which I not only find really inspiring but I had a great time making. It’s been so lovely to share all these images with the team so everyone can show off their talents and amazing products to Brides and Grooms. If you’re planning a wedding at Thorpeness Country Club or you’re having a beachy wedding and you want any information about wedding photography, I’d love to be able to help.
