A Super Chilled Family Photo Shoot ~ Mudeford Beach Dorset
Bare feet, beach huts, salty kisses, bath tubs and PJ paddles in the sea. I’m not sure it gets much more epic than this for a family photo shoot!! Last September I had the pleasure of photographing Emily and Rupert’s wedding, and instead of having a pre wedding couple shoot we decided it would be more special to them and more fun if we included their two little girls in the photos, so we had a family photo shoot at Mudeford beach down in Dorset. Rupert’s Dad has a beach hut there which they were all staying in for a couple of weeks over the summer. I got the ferry across to meet them there in the evening and we got some lovely natural family photos at the beach of the four of them. Emily and Rupert asked if I could then stay on to capture their evening routine at the beach which consisted of the girls having a bath on the decking of the beach hut before they got cosy in their PJ’s. The beach has showers and toilets for everyone to use who are staying there in the beach huts, but why have a shower when you’re still small enough to fit in a little tub with a great view. It was such a sweet moment watching them all play together in the water, and bought back some really lovely memories of all the fun toys and games I used to love playing in the bath when I was little. As the girls got more and more sleepy they got in their PJ’s, had one last paddle in the sea and then I left them to it with a very full and very happy heart after capturing some of my favourite family photos.
